Psycho Pass is a Science Fiction Japanese anime series written by Gen Urobuchi, also famous for Fate/Zero and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It consisted of a 22 episode season 2, which aired in 2012, an 11 episode season 2, which aired in 2014, and a feature film, which was released in 2015.
The story takes place in an authoritarian future dystopia where omnipresent public sensors constantly scan the mental state of every passing citizen. Collected data on both present mentality and aggragated personality data are used to gauge the probability of that citizen committing a crime, that rating referred to as the citizen's Psycho Pass. Authorities are alterted whenever that rating is detected, and officers of the Public Safety Bureau are dispatched with weapons called Dominators, energy weapons that modulate their powers based on the latent criminal's Psycho Pass. The story follows Akane Tsunemori and Shinya Kogami among other members of Unit 1 of the Public Safety Bureau's criminal investigation division.
Season 1 of Psycho Pass aired from October 12, 2012 to March 22, 2013, for 22 episodes. It was written by Gen Urobuchi, directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani and Katsuyuki Motohiro, and produced by Koji Yamamoto, George Wada, Kenji Tobori, Wakana Okamura, and Studio Production IG, with music composed by Yugo Kanno. It revolves around Akane Tsunemori, who just graduated from the academy. A naive rookie, she gets put in charge of the enforcers Shinya Kogami, Shusei Kagari, and Tomomi Masaoka, by her chief Nobuchika Ginoza.
