Kira Nerys was a Bajoran female during the 24th century.
During the occupation of Bajor she fought in the Resistance. After the Cardassian withdrawal she joined the Militia with whom she would fight during the Dominion War reaching the rank of Colonel. When Bajor joined the Federation she transferred to Starfleet where she was given the rank of Captain and command of station Deep Space 9.
