A Triffid is a carnivorous plant that can grow up to eight feet tall. They are ambulatory (can walk) and have some sort of intelligence which is not controlled by a brain. They have a lethal sting which can whip out to about eight feet or ten feet if they "Lean" forward. Triffids are genetically modified in Russia in the book Radio and 1981 TV Serial. They reproduce in he way all plants do and their seeds are released from a small hole in their "body" and are contained a green rough sphere which splits open to release thousands of small seeds, not unlike dandelion's, of which only 5% are fertile.
