Squibbons were a sentient species, living millions of years in the future. Having evolved from Squids, Squibbons gradually became a land-dwelling creature before learning to swing through the treetops. Since the activity of swinging from branch to branch required greater hand-eye (or rather, tentacle-eye) coordination, their brains developed, eventually bringing them to sentience.
