The Selenites are the inhabitants of the Moon. They are a humanoid, alien species. They tumbled around a lot, and could be easily defeated by whacking them, which would cause them to disappear in a puff of smoke.
As depicted in Le Voyage dans la Lune, they seem to be very light, tumbly creatures. They seem to be ruled by a monarchy.
