FONT is a free-membership Manchester, England based science fiction community who get together informally on the 2nd, 4th & 5th Thursdays of each month throughout the year. They meet at The Crown And Anchor pub on Hilton Street, Manchester from about 8.30 PM until the pub shuts. The group has been active for about twelve years.

FONT stands for The Friends Of Neil Tringham, one of its earliest members. The group grew out of the WARPED student Science Fiction Society at Manchester University.

Members cheerfully discuss the latest films, books, comics, and computer games and much more relating to Science Fiction. Some members are regular attendees at annual science fiction conventions like Eastercon, Worldcon and Novacon.

FONT also produce an annual free newsletter, FONT-Zine, and back issues can be downloaded from their website.

There are virtually no rules for membership of FONT – If you like Science Fiction, you are in. It's as simple as that.
