David Tennant is the stage name used by David John McDonald (born 18 April 1971) a Scottish actor born in Bathgate, West Lothian. He is best known for playing the Tenth Doctor in the Doctor Who television series.
Prior to his appearance as the Doctor he had been a well known theater actor and had achieved more widespread fame for the television series Casanova and his role as Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Early Life Edit
He was born in Bathgate, West Lothian but grew up in Ralston, Renfrewshire where his father was a Church of Scotland minister. He was educated at Ralston Primary and Paisley Grammar School, with his theater training coming at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
