Admiral James Kirk once used the station in San Francisco to travel to Starfleet Headquarters to handle the V’Ger crisis in 2273. While there he met Commander Sonak, who was to be Kirk’s science officer.
While Kirk was there the shuttlecraft Conrad launched from the station and several Federation ambassadors were seen.
